Columbine Genealogy Membership Perks

 

 

A Member?  If you are a Columbine member, please take full advantage of the perks that you have.  Being a member will provide you with information and assistance in your ongoing quest for those elusive ancestors, as well as the support and camaraderie of other members. See the perks listed below and get involved.

 

Not a Member?  Of course, you’ll want to attend our excellent program presentations and Skills Sessions, which are open to the public.  But there’s more - if you are NOT a member, look at what you are missing!

 

Membership Perks

  • Special Interest Groups, including hands-on classes to guide you in your research or to serve as a helpful refresher. You can participate in groups that focus on Basic Beginning Research, Deeds and Records, Early Church Records, Family Tree Maker, as well as a Do-Over (or Go-Over) plan using Thomas MacEntee’s workbook.  These groups are led by knowledgeable researchers, and  other class members frequently can share useful hints.

  • Members Only Access at Columbine Genealogy’s website

    • Watch videos of previous meetings in case you miss one or want a reminder of the speakers’ key points.  The recordings are posted for various periods of time, based on the agreements that are made with the speakers.

    • Access two years’ worth of handouts from previous speakers.

  • Gain access to special features at Columbine Friends Corner.

    • Utilize the Membership Directory information to connect with fellow members.

    • See where other members are researching and what surnames they are pursuing.  Maybe you’ll find a relative. Don’t forget to add your own research information.

  • Writers Group is made up of members who want to write their family history stories. This is a friendly, supportive group who review one another’s stories to help with content and clarity.

  • Use Columbine Genealogy’s Zoom account for your family visits if you can’t travel.  Contact our president, Sean McGuire seantmcguire@msn.com, to set up a call.

In addition to receiving all these membership perks, being a member is important to Columbine Genealogy because membership dues are essential for supporting our programming.  Your membership will allow us to continue that tradition, so we appreciate your support.

 

You will enhance your own enjoyment of being a member by actively participating in the organization.  Volunteering, whether in small or large ways, benefits the organization and you, because you’ll get to be involved with other members.
