Help us celebrate the 150th anniversary of Colorado’s statehood

Open Microphone:  Three Minutes About Your Colorado Ancestor 

We’d like to hear a story about one of your Colorado pioneer ancestors. Whether they arrived before 1876 or later, all stories are welcome.

Your ancestor may have been directly involved in the original settling of Colorado, the Centennial State, arriving before statehood in 1876 as a trapper, miner, rancher, or pioneer homesteader. Perhaps your ancestor came during the Pike's Peak Gold Rush of 1859, staked a claim, and built a life in the rugged Rocky Mountain frontier. Or maybe your ancestor arrived after statehood as a farmer, merchant, railroad worker, or immigrant seeking new opportunity in the growing West. We're interested in hearing all of these stories!

We invite you to share a 3-minute story with us, either in person or on Zoom, on September 8.  Zoom storytellers are welcomed.  If you participate in person, you may bring books, photos or artifacts for the display table. Start thinking about the story you want to share, and how you can stay within the time limit.

Join us in celebrating Colorado's 150th anniversary! The room will be decorated in honor of the occasion, and cake will be served
